Privacy Policy

LuksMac does not collect anything. It has no network code, no analytics, no crash reporter, and no account system. This page explains what that means concretely, and covers the two places data does exist: your Mac’s keychain, and the checkout when you buy.

1. The app collects no data

LuksMac makes no network connections. There is no telemetry, no usage reporting, no crash reporting, no advertising or attribution SDK, and no third-party analytics of any kind. The app does not ask you to create an account and has no concept of a user identity.

The app runs in the macOS App Sandbox without the outgoing-network entitlement, so the operating system refuses any network connection it attempts; including one made on its behalf by a library. You can verify this yourself: inspect the app’s entitlements with codesign -d --entitlements - /Applications/LuksMac.app and confirm that com.apple.security.network.client is absent.

In Apple’s App Privacy terms, LuksMac’s declaration is Data Not Collected.

2. Diagnostic logs

LuksMac writes a small number of entries to the macOS unified log: mount timings and errors encountered while opening or syncing a volume. These stay on your Mac under the operating system’s own log retention, and they record failure descriptions and timings, not file names or file contents. Nothing uploads them.

If you send us a diagnostic report while getting support, you are choosing to share it, and it is covered by section 7.

Separately, if you have macOS set to share analytics and crash data with Apple, that sharing is between you and Apple under Apple’s privacy policy. We do not receive it, and we have no access to it.

3. Buying LuksMac

If you buy from the Mac App Store, Apple handles the entire transaction. We never see your payment details. Apple provides us only aggregate, anonymised sales reporting. Apple’s handling of your purchase is governed by Apple’s privacy policy.

If you buy direct, checkout is handled by our payment processor, which acts as merchant of record and collects your payment details and email address to complete the sale, remit sales tax, and send your licence key and download link. We receive the order record, your email, and what you bought, and keep it so we can re-send a lost ke. We never see your card number. The processor’s own privacy policy governs its handling of your data.

However you buy, the app never checks in , there is no activation call, no licence server, and no periodic validation. Buying does not create an account, and we do not track installs or usage.

4. Email support

If you email us, we hold your message and your email address for as long as it takes to help you and to keep a record of the exchange. We do not add you to a mailing list, and we do not use your address for anything you did not write to us about.
